Self empowerment through your voice
Vocal Improvisation is singing in the moment. This requires deep listening, allowing the thinking mind to quiet. Begin with breath. Then a sound. Listen to the sound. One sound leads to the next. It does not have to be difficult or complicated. When we are talking -we are making it up as we go along. Same with vocal improv- we make it up as we go along. Therefore-there is no right or wrong! Yet there are skills in listening and structures to help us create from within, sing powerfully from our heart and connect with our authentic self and others.
Begin with how you are feeling. Express that feeling through sound. Let the sound lead you, surrender to the sound. You will develop comfort in facing the unknown. This develops trust.
We all have a gift of our own unique voice. Everyone’s voice and expression is different. Therefore we do not have to worry about “getting it right.” We learn to accept what is and trust our instincts. May we all celebrate our voice and sing!!!
